Flexible Line Key support for BLF and EFK

Prior to UC Software 6.0.0 Busy Lamp field's (BLF’s) and Enhanced Feature Key's (EFK’s) appear in a pre-configured order and did not give any flexibility to the user on the position.

This original design defeated the purpose of the Flexible line key feature where a user could arrange their lines in order of importance

  • Static BLF contacts and EFK’s can be arranged in any order on the phone and EM

  • Assigning static BLF (non-Broadsoft) and EFK to a line key, assign the line key index (linekey.x.index) to indicate the line key position on the screen

  • A label can be configured for the EFK’s assigned to the Line Keys – in the past, the label on the EFK came from the Macro name.

DHCP Cache for survivability

A WAN outage can impair the local devices from being able to operate normally and continue to place/receive calls when DHCP services are offered by a server on WAN. This is a common issue when the DHCP server is not on the same local network as phone

  • When configured the phone now stores the IP address obtained from DHCP in the local cache
  • This enables the phone to work seamlessly during Lease time expiry, outage or DHCP server failure etc.
  • The VVX phone periodically attempts to resume DHCP service with a new DHCP Discover message for the entire time the cached IP address is in use
  • When the DHCP connectivity is restored phone will attempt to lease the existing IP from the DHCP server

Limitations

  • Only IPv4 standalone mode is supported
  • Phone using a cached IP address may end up with an IP address conflict when the DHCP server comes back and other phones get assigned the same address as is currently stored in the cache. In this case a reboot is required.

Configuration

Parameter Permitted values Reboot/restart
device.net.cachedIPAddress 0 (default) – IP addresses isn't cached No
1- If a DHCP response isn't received, the phone uses the last assigned IP address, provided one is cached already. A DHCP discover message is retried every second
device.net.cachedIPAddressRetryTime Specify the time in seconds to send new No
DHCP to discover messages when using a cached IP address.
This is only applicable when device.net.cachedIP Address is enabled.

  • Using a VVX 250 large is 3pix bigger and a VVX 350 or 450 it is 2pix bigger than Normal

  • Update the settings through Settings->Basic->Preferences -> Text Size: Normal / Large

The increased text size is applicable for all the menu’s including contact directories, calendar, Contact Directories etc.

image

Limitations

  • Only applicable for VVX 250, 350 and 450.
  • This is supported only for English Language in UCS 6.0.0
  • Web UI is not affected by the size change
