Hi guys,

Is there a way to code into a Config/OR file to schedule a reboot of a polycom phone, for example at 00:01 every day the phone will reboot?

The reason for this is I want to be able to keep the telephone directories up to date without asking the entire company to reboot their phones.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ian

Hello Ian,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

To answer this truthfully the answer is no. We do not have a parameter that will reboot the phone at a certain time.

The phone has the possibility to reboot itself using the check-sync SIP notify message. This is how our partners reboot the phones or get them to load a configuration check.

Asterisk for example can do this from a command line. Something like a perl script could be utilized to send this SIP message to individual phones.

We do have the possibility, depending on the phones software version which has so far not yet been supplied, to use the Provisional Polling. This is a new parameter added in UCS 4.0.0.

This would only check the config_files listed in the 000000000000.cfg / <mac>.cfg file but not the <mac>-directory.xml file.

The correct method of deploying an up to date directory would be to utilize an corporate directory which would be centrally updated.

Hi Steffen

Thanks for your reply.

Our phones are running 4.0.4.2906 and we use Porta as our management system.

I guess I'll have to come up with another way to manage this. Do you have a link to any information on how to use the corporate directory?

Kind regards

Ian
