You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Poly. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

----------------Any phone not automatically having the Skype for Business Option from Fatcory default requires a Polycom per phone Software license.
Jan 26, 2016 Question:Do I require a License to use Polycom VVX Business Media Phones with a Lync Server / Skype for Business server ?
License requirements for Polycom VVX Business Media Phones not using a Lync / Skype for Business SKU:
Please be aware of the following License requirement:
The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync / Skype for Business environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync / Skype for Business environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync / Skype for Business server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.
Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.
The pre-requisite for the above is to configuring DHCP Options to Enable Sign-in for IP Phones.
DHCP Option 43 for the vendor class and Option 120 for the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for the certification authority (CA) pool Registrar need to be setup.
In addition the Option 42 for a time server are required in order to verify the certificate.
For more information on setting up DHCP, see Setting Up DHCP for Devices on the Microsoft TechNet site.
NOTE: The above is a standard for LYNC/Skype for Business and you need to work with your Microsoft support team in order to set this up in your network!
You can still utilize a username login functionality on all phones supporting LYNC.
UCS 5.0.0 added additional BToE functionality.
In order for a phone to be able to use any of the above the base profile needs to be changed to LYNC from the phone idle screen using the multi-key combo (MKC) shortcut.
To set the Base Profile to Skype for Business using the Web Interface:
After the phone rebooted the Web Interface needs to be enabled again as shown => here <=
To set the Base Profile to Lync using the multi-key combo shortcut:
The phone will reboot after this.
Once the phone returns from the reboot the following screen is presented:
The above simply allows to add the LYNC Extension and PIN that has been pre-programmed on your LYNC server.
If the Extension & PIN method is not the desired method then pressing the Home/Menu key will return to the Idle screen:
Pressing the Sign In Key (May need to press the More key before) will present you with these Options:
Selecting the User Credentials instead:
The credentials are expected as follows:
username@domain.net
domain
username
Signing into LYNC / Skype for Business via the Web Interface
(if enabled as explained => here <= )
or later versions:
Hybrid Registration:
Use Line 1 for Skype for Business and line 2 or 3 for anything else.
Jan 25, 2016 Question:How many Lines can I register using Polycom phones with Lync Server / Skype for Business server?
Resolution: UC Software 5.8.0 for VVX phones and UC Software 5.5.2 for Polycom Trio added the Hybrid registration feature. Details are in the Admin Guide or => here <= up to 3 different lines. The first one must be Skype for Business / Office 365

----------------Adding LYNC Favorites to the Phone or Add On Module:
Note: Please check => here <= what current Software Version supports the Add on Module for the VVX Range!
Any Contact from a Skype for Business client can be added to Skype for Business Favorites.
Simply searching for a Name on the Skype for Business Client and then right-clicking on this offers the option to “Add to Favorites”
Once this was added it will appear automatically on the VVX Phone.
The sequence of order is determined by the Skype for Business Client.
On a CCX phone this looks like:
In addition, a Parameter can be utilized that pushes all configured keys to the Expansion Module (UC Software 5.4.x
<line regOnPhone="1"/>
From UC Software 5.5.x onwards:
