Polycom phones always have supported a CSR / Certificate Signing Request and traditionally the signature algorithm SHA1 was being used and the requested certificate was 512-bits in length.
UC Software 5.5.0 and later changed this to SHA256 and a 2048 bit key is being used.
To start press Menu > Settings > Advanced > Administration Settings and scroll down and select Generate CSR

- Fill the CSR info with a meaningful Common name example dot1xPhone
- All other fields fill in as needed
- Press the “Generate” softkey to upload the CSR and private key to your provisioning server
The Phone will upload:
The CSR File can now be used to open as an example a Windows Certificate server.
