Hi,

We are using Polycom VVX 410 phones with our Broadworks R20 SP1 platform.

The VVX410 phones are configured as flexible hosts.

Guests log on to the phones and the phones pull and apply the guests configuration from our profile server but we are not able to make the phones apply the guest contacts/favourites without forcing a reboot each time a guest logs in or out.

 

Is there a way to force VVX phones to apply [PHONE_MAC_ADDRESS]-directory.xml with having to reboot them?

Hello Lion2,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

Resolution: Please check here

 

Usually the local directory is only loaded on booting up. I suggest you work with Broadsoft on this as the feature has been developed with them.

The UC version we are using is 5.1.2, I've checked the release notes for 5.1.3 and 5.2 but did not see any specific updates about applying a directory.xml to the local phone config without reboot.

 

We have also logged a case with Broadsoft on this issue and are awating feed back from them.

We are now working with our local Polycom sales channel to work with us and raise a feature enchancement.

I'm facing the same issue. The only thing that would be copied on the host phone when guest logs in would be BLF, but speeddials or even 2nd line appearances won't.

 

Just wondering if anyone had a better luck with this.

You replied to a 2 year old post so chances are if there was anything wrong this would be fixed by now.

 

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

I would ensure to check with Broadsoft what kind of features that are included in this and then open a ticket with us if the feature does not work.

I came across ths thread by searching for flex seating.

 

Perhaps you know if it's possible to "sync" guest's contacts/favourites whe guest logs into host phone? It would be great to have call history too...

 

I'm using latest available version 5.5.0 (hope to see 5.5.1 you've mentioned in another post soon) as it has better integration for this feature.
