Hello,
We tested the Acoustic Fence with Beam Shaping using a Group 500 updated to software version 5.0, but we noticed that the other side could hear us just when we spoke too close to the microphone, just a few centimeter from the mic.
Is there a way to increase the microphone range?
Did anybody find the same issue?
Thank you.
Regards,
Eduardo Domingues
Did you increase the beam sensitivity? did the results change?
What Microphone was used?
What was your setup of the microphone(s) used?
What was your enviroment tested in, home, office, cube, open space?
Attached is a technical brief on the Acoustic Fence
I have tested the Acrostic Fence with Beam Shaping on Group 500 on release 6.2.2.1 using a single standard microphone.
This feature addresses an audio loop experienced at the far site caused by a speaker to microphone loop on the near site.
What is disappointing is that the Fixed Beam Width does not seem to have any effect. Even when set to Wide it only picks up sound directly in the direction of the leg with the Polycom logo. It is only usefully if we have one person attending the video conference.
Can the beam width be enhanced so that Wide gives at least a 90 degree range?
