[FAQ] BToE Firewall ports

A quick overview of the ports used with BToE application and the direction they require to be open

 

Port Number Type Description Direction
24802 UDP For audio streaming. Phone => PC
6000 TCP For SSH client connection (plink.exe). Used inside computer. (BToE application to Plink.exe)   
Dynamic TCP Plink.exe uses a dynamic port for connecting to VVX. Phone <=> PC
22 (On VVX) TCP VVX Uses this port to get connected with computer Phone <=> PC
    application. (Secure connection)  
2081 UDP Discovery packet broadcast is done on this port by VVX. Phone => PC
24801 TCP VVX and computer App will communicate each other using this port (non-secure connection) Phone <=> PC
24804 TCP VVX and the computer application will communicate with each other using this port (secure connection). This port is used by VVX Business Media Phones when in Manual Pairing Mode . BToE 3.7.0 or later Phone <=> PC

BToE Discovery:

 

BToE Discovery is sent from the Phone to the BToE App to discover the Phone.

If you are unable to see the above a Firewall on the PC is blocking the BToE Discovery

 

If you can see the above but BToE still not offers to pair and prompt the user to enter their credentials on the Skype for Business client then a local policy or as an example, Symantec Endpoint Protection blocks the communication.
