Hello jeremyarnoux,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.
The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
Please be aware that the Firmware you quoted aka 417 is not compatible with a SoundPoint IP 550
Jun 30, 2015 Question:What is the difference using the UC Software 4.0.0 for compatible SoundPoint or SoundStation IP Phones?
Resolution: Please always check the release Notes or
Software Version | Call Server |
4.0.X | SIP Only |
4.1.X | LYNC Only |
In order to upgrade your Phone please follow this FAQ post here:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

thank you for your response and your welcome
I download the version 4.0.7 split and I put the files on the tftp server
I also read the tutorials, but I did not find the explanation for this download error problem
the only file downloaded correctly is the <mac> .cfg
I noticed that the phone tries to download the file sip.ld while in the zip available on your website does not contain, is this normal?
I have a file named 2345-12500-001.bootrom.ld, should he renamed bootrom.ld?
I said that I work on OSS END POINT is that freepbx firmwares are fournient by OSS END POINT
I do not know if I'm the only one with the problem, but it's been a few hours to see days I try to solve the problem

Hello jeremyarnoux,
Downloading the UC Software 4.0.7 from => here <= has these files:
- Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_7_release_sig_combined.zip
- Polycom_UC_Software_4_0_7_release_sig_split.zip
The combined only contains a sip.ld whilst the split contains as expected the <part-number>.sip.ld files.
I am unsure why you chose 4.0.7 as 4.0.9 is the latest version but the above quoted FAQ post explains everything in detail so you should be simply able to follow this.
I would recommend to use FTP instead of TFTP.

Hello jeremyarnoux,
I suggested to use FTP and not TFTP.
Could you use FTP instead and post the relevant logs ?
