Hello,

Please kindly advise the proper settings for a IP 501 (3.17 SIP) phone that require registration with two different remote servers. I've used the settings below without success. Only the first line is able to register.

Hello xmel,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I am unsure what exactly you have done so far but booting a SPIP501 with no specific settings so it loads it's 000000000000.cfg and via this it's sip.cfg and phone1.cfg should just enable you to add the separate server & registration Details via the Web Interface.

For a single registration that is shown => here <=

For a second line on a different server just use the Line 2

Example if done via a separate Configuration File:

reg.1.server.1.address="10.252.75.119" reg.1.label="3019 " reg.1.auth.userId="3019" reg.1.auth.password="3019" reg.1.address="3019" reg.1.displayName="Ast 119" reg.2.server.1.address="10.252.75.203" reg.2.label="3019 " reg.2.auth.userId="3019" reg.2.auth.password="3019" reg.2.address="3019" reg.2.displayName="Ast 203"

Best Regards

Steffen,

I am attempting to do this  with a seaparate config file e.g. mac-reg.cfg.

Does the 501 require both phone1.cfg and sip.cfg to boot?

Can those files be renamed?

Hello xmel,

can I kindly remind you of the FAQ ?

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the sip.cfg and phone1.cfg files?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The Phone running any older software than UCS 3.3.0 will always need these 2 files.

You can rename them to any name but the name's need to be added / changed in the 000000000000.cfg / <mac>.cfg so the phone will find and load them.

A separate configuration can be added just for the registration.

If you require additional assistance from Polycom Support to troubleshoot this issue please raise this via your Polycom Reseller as this is outside the scope of this Polycom Community for Polycom employed support personnel.

Best regards
