Hello
I've been unable to get our IP450 phones logging to syslog using only config files. If I use the phone or web guis to set server, facility and render level it works fine, but the config file seems to be ignored (in the phone menu, it shows that the logging.cfg file has been processed with no errors). The logging.cfg file contains this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<device.syslog device.syslog.facility="16" device.syslog.facility.set="1" device.syslog.prependMac="1" device.syslog.prependMac.set="1" device.syslog.renderLevel="0" device.syslog.renderLevel.set="1" device.syslog.serverName=""192.168.99.10"" device.syslog.serverName.set="1" device.syslog.transport="1" device.syslog.transport.set="1"></device.syslog>
Does anyone see anything wrong with the config? It is processed by the phones, so theres no problem with making sure its available etc (other config files are working fine)
Thanks,

Hello thefish,
from the UCS 4.0.1 Admin Guide (example as I am unaware of your Software Version):
If set to 0, do not use any device.xxx fields to set any parameters. Set this to 0 after the initial installation.
If set to 1, use the device.xxx fields that have device.xxx.set=1. Set this to 1 for the initial installation only.
You are missing the device.set="1" Parameter. Without this any device.xxx.set Parameter is simply ignored.
Best Regards
