(FW 4.0.3 )

I want to change the recording softkey for the Sounpoint 650 IP. Now it's only visible when a call is coming in or when a call is placed. I want to change the action so it's also visible in the setting I choose. And it should just read record and I don't want to push softkey record then softkey start  (skipping 1 keypress)

So I need the action command.

Here's is what I want.
feature.17.name="call-recording" feature.17.enabled="1" (to enable, just to make sure)

<WEB
feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled="1"
softkey.feature.forward="1" (I sometimes use this)
softkey.feature.newcall="0" (Never use this with the softkey)
softkey.1.action="" <<<the command for "callrecording start" or simulate button press "call recording start" (HOW?)
softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="Record" softkey.1.use.idle="1"
softkey.1.use.active="1"
softkey.1.use.alerting="1"
softkey.1.use.hold="1"
softkey.1.use.proceeding="1"

Anyone? Can the command be found in the logging perhaps when recording a call? (can't test it right now)

Hello Marc,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Please post your software version and be aware that the functionality is only available once the call is in a connected state.

Hello Steffen,

just a tip, when replying read the actual message first instead of copying and pasting from a knowledgebase.

FW version is on top of the message (FW 4.0.3)

Second, if you had actually read the message you would have noticed that what you wrote was what I posted.

So this reply was not very helpfull.

I need the actual command. I know that it's only visible in connected mode. That's what I want to change.

Secondly just for history references. The Soundpoint IP 650 does not need a license for recording as of FW 4.0.0.

Please change this in any of the documents.

Hi Mac,

you are correct, I overlooked that you had actually posted your software version.

Please be aware that the parameters you quoted are actually no longer used since UCS 3.3.0 and I would suggest to read the matching admin guide in order to use the correct parameters.

The linked post from the FAQ should get you the general idea on how to utilize the softkey / efk functionality.

For further support please contact your Polycom reseller.

In addition I am unaware of your reference in regards the documents that need updating so please update this post with the documents in question.

Best Regards

Hello garabed,

Have a look at this example => here <=

I had already replied in another post with the locations within the FAQ that describe the EFK functionality.

Using the example of the above linked post you should be able to modify this and match it to your Phone.
