Hello,

We have polycom vvx 350, 501s, and 600 deployed as part of our HPBX deployment, metaswitch platform. Firmware version is 6.4 Currently When a phone is rebooted it loses its local contacts, is there anything we can do to stop this from happening?

Hello @jmonroe ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

I would suggest you contact Metaswitch to allow the phone to upload its directory file. Otherwise it will keep losing this on a reboot.

From our FAQ:

Jan 6, 2012 Question: How can I create a local contact directory/phonebook or what is the 000000000000-directory.xml used for?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Hello,

I just went through this same issue and finally had success today thanks to metaswitch support. If you didn't get it straightened out yet, it has to do with the default settings in the Endpoint packs. You have to download the endpoint extension pack available on the Metaswitch community (QuickLink ID: F007558) and change the metadata file to match your versions. Then upload to the EAS and add the extension pack to your version set (I used the trialuser). Change your phone to the trialuser version set and you should see in User > Preferences > Allow Local Directory Changes > change to Yes. Now your contacts should save and not be overwritten after reboot or config update.

I had the same problem and it was because I was using the custom setting area of the phone profile to change that DirectoryRW setting but the phone still was getting the blank directory which overwrites the phone's existing directory.

I hope this helps.
