Hi Guys,

I am testing a VVX 310 app version 5.0.2  with Better together over Ethernet 2.1 , the provisioning with the BToE is nice , works beautifully. The Lync client 2010 pop up a window asking for the credentials and the phone registers and works just fine. However , the customer has a AD Security Policy for users password that must be changed in 3 months period, so we tried to do emulate that password change with a password reset from the Domain Controller , but the pop up window to insert credentials didnt appear , the phone keep registered , working just fine.

I want to know which is the best way to update the phone password or which is the normal behavior when the password changes.

What should I do to get that pop up window so the end users could update their passwords.

Thanks for all the help you can provide.

Hello jman1982,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

BToE will utilize NTLM to authenticate against the LYNC server and then the phone is able to connect to LYNC and download the certificate and use TLS-DSK to authenticate from then on until the certificate expires.

Once this happens the NTLM password will be required.

Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:

The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found here

Hi  Steffen ,

Thanks for your quick response.

So when the certificate expires , the phone will ask for the credentials and will pop out the window  , right?
