Hi
Does the VVX series of phones support instant messaging? I have looked in the admin guide and enabled:
<feature.messaging.enabled feature.messaging.enabled="%MESSAGING_ENABLED%" /> (broadsoft tag = value of 1)
I can enter the messaging via the features however when I have sent a message to another messaging enabled phone the message never gets there! The phones are on the same subnet so no firewall or anything blocking them...
Running UC Software Version 4.1.5.3284 (1xVVX400 and 1xVVX600)
Is there anything else I need to enable in order for this to work?
Many thanks
Dave

Hello Dave,
A good starting point is always to verify if the call platform even supports instant messaging. To my knowledge Broadworks does not.
Another test to verify this would be to send it directly to the IP Address of another phone.
A wireshark trace or logs at the relevant levels should show the phone sending the SIP message.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hi steffen
Thanks for the clarification. I have tried to send to the ip of the phone instead of the extn however still no joy - even tried enabling the instant group call within broadworks to see if this made a difference but nothing...
I will leave it out the config for now and maybe look into it further in the future.
Many thanks and best regards
Dave
