VVX 500 on Lync - Display name of the caller when receiving call

Hello to the Polycom Community,

I have searched from the Polycom Partner website and from this website and I could not find an answer (maybe I missed it ...).

I have a VVX 500 (UC 5.0.1) registered to a Lync 2010 and I have noticed when someone calls me, the VVX displays on the screen the full URI: username@domain. This behavior is different with CX600 which only display the username (and in bonus, the picture of the user).

Does anyone know if it possible to make the display name shorter by removing for example the @domain?

Is there something to do on the VVX phone or maybe on the Lync server?

Thank you for your support,

Best Regards

Re: VVX 500 on Lync - Display name of the caller when receiving call

Hello FFamiliari,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I would suggest to try to use the:

feature.urlDialing.enabled="0"

Parameter. This will remove the suffix to my knowledge.

In addition please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:

The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Hello Steffen,

You are right, I have just testing it and it works well, the domain is now removed from the URI.

Many thx for your help on this and also on the ice issue you worked on with Plamen & Niilas.

Have a nice day,

Best Regards,

François
