I have an Asterisk server with many internal extensions. Most of these extensions are softphones on desktop PCs and they work fine. However, I also have three VVX410 SIP-phones. On these, every incoming call is dropped exactly after 5 minutes.
The SIP provider says that the call is terminated by the outside caller because of the message "487 Request Expired" received from the my phone. However, the provider has been unable to solve the issue.
They also say that Asterisk sends a re-INVITE for a new IP Address for the RTP Stream (from 10.10.10.10 which is the asterisk IP to e.g. 10.10.10.102 which is the IP of the polycom phone that picked up the call).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello aag,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
