Hello,
Recently, (within the last 6 months) I had a VOIP system deployed in my small business office (less than 10 employees) by Polycom. The Software version was 5.0.1.4068, and 1 of the 5 phone did not keep the voicemail setup. The user continuously has to step through the setup and apply a password (like it was the first time setup) every time they needed to check their voice mail. For example, user pressed the voice mail button, 'automated voice suggested to setup first time use'... password, repeat password, and so forth.
I had hoped the issue would be resolved by upgrading the software version, so I did so to version 5.1.1.2986. This did not resolve the problem. As a matter of fact, I now have two users having to deal with this problem of continually going through the motions of setting up voicemail every time.
Is this a problem I can resolve or is there a more in-depth solution that requires a certified technician to be on site?
Hello Derosa Group Rep,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
To my knowledge Polycom does not install any phone equipment directly for end customers so you must have had some kind of business installing this for you.
The phone itself does not have anything to do with the SIP server or any voicemail on this so I can only suggest you contact whoever installed this for you and work with them to get this fixed for you.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
Best Regards
