Using SoundStation Ip 7000 with mobile phone and without VOIP connection

We have a need to use our SoundStation IP 7000 in a location without any Internet Access except via mobile phone. I had hopes of simply using the Mobile phone connection plus a 48 V power injector to do this. The power injector does power the phone, but when I plug in the mobile phone connecting cable I get nothing.

The mobile phone connection only seems to work when the phone is already has a VOIP connection.

How can I get the IP 7000 to work with just power and a mobile phone?

Re: Using SoundStation Ip 7000 with mobile phone and without VOIP connection

Hello JAMcComb,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used SIP or UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition what mobile phone cable are you using?

Hello JAMcComb,

what do you mean you get nothing?

Does the display not change to PC-Mobile audio?
