I have had vvx 300s, and 400s, for a while now and I am upgrading to vvx 350s vvx 450s. My current vvx 300s are running on version: 5.6.0.17325. I manually configure these phones and do not use a provisioning server. I have left the option for a provisioning server address blank in the gui.  I am getting errors that it cannot provision. Is there a way that I can disable the option for the phone to use a provisioning server?

Hello @Jessie M. Hadaller ,

Welcome back to the Poly Community.

UC Software 5.6.0 is no longer a supported version so please update to a currently supported version. For VVX x50 this would be UC Software 6.4.2. For the VVX 300, it would be 5.9.7

It should be pretty simple to run an FTP or HTTP server somewhere so the phones can load their configuration from somewhere or upload the changes made manually.

Hi,

does an http server have to be local to the network? - would I be able to set up a directory on my existing site which houses other files on it?

ex. - I have the existing site, portal.itsjessnetworks.com. Would I be able to have my config files hosted there on say… “portal.itsjessnetworks.com/VoIP/xxxxx/config/x.cfg”?

Hello @Jessie M. Hadaller

any server but considering if you would host CFG files with passwords in them may be a security risk.

If the credentials are added via the Web UI or Phone UI that is fine as the upload or a backup would not contain passwords.

Best Regards

I have my server setup. And I have exported my file, and have uploaded it to the server.
in terms of the url, should I be placing the full file name at the end of the url?

eg.

VoIP-central.itsjessnetworks.com/provisioning/HQ/Poly-VVX/[extension]/(file)? Or just

VoIP-central.itsjessnetworks.com/provisioning/HQ/Poly-VVX/[extension]?
