Hi,

We have recently managed to make our Soundstation IP6000 phones work with our LG ipecs system. There is only one outstanding issue we have remaining. When we dial into a conference call (externally hosted), we need to place the call on hold and then remove hold before the phone will transmit voice data.

The phone will still send DTMF prior to this as we can hear the tones on the other phones connected to the call.

I have wiresharked this and the only difference between the SIP packets establishing the call initially and the one to set sendrecv (hold off, after it has sent sendonly) is that the later does not list all available RTP protocols, only the one in use.

Once we have removed the call from hold the other participants in the call are able to hear us fine. The phone is also transmitting voice data fine when we have not had to enter any pin codes via DTMF.

We are using SIP INFO to transmit DTMF, with a payload of 101.

Hello James,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The used SIP switch is not on the list of supported SIP switches listed => here <=

Can you make point to point calls, i.e. call another phone rather than the conference ?

It would be good to compare the signaling on your end and also ensure to always post the used current software version.

Hi Steffen, thanks for the prompt reply.

The phone can make internal (both to another polycom ip6000 and to LG IPECS phones) and external point to point calls perfectly fine.

We are aware that the SIP switch is not supported, however as SIP is an ISO/IEC standard protocol we should still be able to make it work as both systems implement it.

What signalling do we need to compare? Point to Point vs conference?

Below are the software versions used on the phone

UC Software Version 4.0.5.4853

BootROM Software Version 5.0.2.12692

Hello James,

yes you are correct, SIP is a standard but for unsupported switches we would only support via best effort as we simply have no interoperability testing done with these manufacturers.

The point to point test already shows that the unit is working as expected and it simply seems to be affecting external calls via a gateway.

You would need to compare the call setup and codec negotiation on that end and then work with a Polycom reseller in case you need any assistance from our support team.

In addition you should also contact LG support in regards of this issue.
