I have a need to have a microphone 10'-15' away from the soundstation duo.  It seems there are 2 options: wireless mic or long mic cable...

1) I read in this FAQ ( http://www.polycom.com/content/dam/polycom/common/documents/faqs/soundstation-duo-faq-enus.pdf ) that wireless expansion microphones were not compatible with the SoundStation Duo.

2) The expansion mics that I can buy only have 7' cables.

Is there a way to place a microphone 10-15' away?

Hello timthomas,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The extension Microphones are specifically designed to work with the phone full duplex functionality and may not be extended over a certain distance.

Polycom offers the optional additional microphones:

Cable - Two (2) expansion microphone cables, 4.6m/15ft for SoundStation VTX 1000, SoundStation2 EX, SoundStation2W (Expandable), SoundStation Duo, SoundStation IP 6000 and CX3000.

I have been able to add a 24 inch or less extention with a coupler on the end of the mic wire before installation into the base with no issues.  Past 24 inches defiantly have quality issues.  Had to try for the predrilled holes in a board room table were 12 inches to far and they didnt want wires on top of the table.
