Hello - We own a SoundStation IP7000 and recently purchased the computer calling kit 2200-17240-002 (the correct one per the polycom site).  However, we have the issue with very low microphone volume back to the computer which thus far is making it unusable with our VoIP programs (Skype, Nefsis).  Would very much like to use the polycom with the computer.  Any thoughts?

Hello Rational,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Could you be so kind and check this document => here <= and get back to the community if this addresses your issue?

Above is for the SoundStation2 range but is also applicable for the SoundStation IP 7000. Modern PC's may need the microphone boost option.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thanks Steffen for your reply.

I reviewed the documentation. "Application Note: Computer Calling with SoundStation2 & SoundStation2W" and did not find anything to address the issue we are having with the IP7000.  Unlike with the SoundStation2W there is no "IP" button to activate on the IP7000.  Also, in trying the kit with two PCs (Microsoft XP OS) and a MacBook Pro we were only able to get faint microphone volume when checking against Skype's call testing service.

As the engineers did not create new calling kit documentation specifically for the IP7000 it may be that there was an assumption it would work without indepth testing?  Have you seen the calling kit work on with the IP7000 system and produce acceptable microphone output to the PC?

Let me know if you can suggest any further steps.

Kind regads.

Hello Rational,

did you follow up on the mentioned Microphone boost ?

This is the only thing that may affect the Volume as the PC or MAC may not properly identify the voltage presented by the SSIP7000.

I had in the pasted tested this as working.

As final option please work with your Polycom Reseller to bring this to the attention of Polycom Support.

Best Regards
