i've actually had this problem for a while on both a 4000 and 7000. a 330, 430, 450 and 550 all work fine. so it looks to be specific to the conference phones. this is under asterisk 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8.
it is not a voicemail problem per se. the phone warbles and the envelope icon shows up on the 7000's display but the LEDs do not flash.
right now the 7000 is running 4.0.1 but as i said this goes back a while, even using the factory default config when the phone was new.
is this working for anyone? what am i missing?
thanks!

Hello Reuteler,
this must simply be a typo error as I could not think of a conference room that would need a Voice Mail Indicator,
The UCS 4.0.1 => here <= , the SIP 3.2 => here <= or the SIP 3.1.1 => here <= neither mention this functionality.
I will highlight this to our documentation team to be removed.

----------------Hello reuteler,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
This is rather simple, the SSIP7000 has no MWI LED. Please check the Display Section => here <= of a SPIP670 against the SSIP7000 Datasheet => here <=.

----------------hi.. the 7000's quick user's guide says otherwise. (see attached soundstation_ip_7000_qug_sip3.0.2_english_rev_a.pdf). Under the LED Indicators section is "Flashing Red - You have voice mail."

----------------it's also true of the 4000's quick user's guide. altho i'd say a lot of us home office remote worker types use these conference phones and would appreciate a voicemail indicator.
