We just installed a new system (Fonality) and deployed Soundpoint 331's.  I have a hearing aid user that says she cannot hear with the OEM handset.  If she turns the volume up all the way during the call... it is better... but the setting goes away after she hangs up.  Is there an upgraded handset or appliance we can connect to the 331?

Hello Techoma,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

As far as I am aware all handsets supplied with the Polycom SoundPoint / SoundStation IP range supports magnetic coupling - for those hearing devices that support this method of connectivity (HAC).

Headset and Hearing Aid Compatibility:

  •  Dedicated RJ-9 headset port - Amplified headsets are recommended
  • Compliant with ADA Section 508 Recommendations: Subpart B 1194.23 (all)
  • Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC) handset for magnetic coupling to approved HAC hearing aids
  • Compatibility with commercially-available TTY adapter equipment

The Volume on the Handset should persist after a call has been placed.

Best Regards
