Hi

I have just taken delivery of an IP6000. I am trying to configue it to work with my hosted PBX provider. I wish to configure the phone using the web interface. After ending the IP adress in my browser I am presented with the standard polycom web interface which required a password to configure SIP settings. I have entered the standard Username  = Polycom and Password = 456 however i get the following error message come up

The user name or password you entered for this area on 192.168.X.XXX:80 was incorrect. Make sure you’re entering them correctly, and then try again.

If I use the 456 password directly on the Soundtation menu it allows me into the advanced settings no problem.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hello camlam,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The error message you describe does not sound like any message that I have heard or seen before on any of our SoundPoint / SoundStation IP Range.

Are you sure you are presented with the SSIP 6000 HTTP Web Interface?

Please work with your reseller / provider on this issue as they should be able to forward any issues to Polycom Support.

Best Regards

Hello Camlam,

using Google Chrome and adding a wrong password I do not get this message.

In the FAQ we request kindly that users post their used Software Version as the Release Notes could be checked against known issues.

According to the UCS 3.3.0 Admin Guide:

The web server supports both basic and digest authentication. The authentication user name and password are not configurable for this release.

Above suggests that the standard Password as mentioned by you should work.

As you stated you have only taken delivery of this Unit I can only suggest you contact the seller and ask if they had made any changes and also try and install a newer Software like UCS 3.3.3 or even UCS 4.0.1.

The support for your device is handled by your Polycom Reseller and if you are unable to rectify this issue you can contact Polycom Support via PPI (pay per Incident) to follow up on this.

Regards

Interesting. I was using Safari on a Mac. Seems there are some incompatibilities with that browser. Chrome works fine. Maybe something to look at from your end.

HP Recommended

Well,

Chrome uses Webkit like Safari. Maybe you want to raise a case with Apple on this one?

I have a similar issue I need to resolve ASAP

when I try to navigate to the polycom web utility using my IP address

the page below appears with out error(http://192.168.0.186/). Where I then enter the default password. However,

instead of loading the utility after the password is entered I see nothing but a empty white screen.

I had everything setup and working about a month ago but had to change

ISP, modem, and router set up. I have been able to place several calls

But have no sound at all. Before I made all these changes the sound was working.

My primary concern is to get the web utility up and running so I can trouble shoot

other problems

thank you so much

OS Centos 6.3

Firefox 10.0.12

Polycom ver. 4.0.2.11307

The problem (white screen after log in) went away for a few days and came back this evenig.

I think it will go away on its own but i would sure like to find out why its doing this.

question

there is a web server  that controlls html, php and any other scripts behind polycom's configuration utility manager correct?

or is the phone application dictate the parameters and stored on the provisioning server?

HP Recommended

Hoping I fixed the problem!

Somehow the router had assigned a dynamic ip addr, so i configured to static dhcp and rebooted the phone now back in untility

Manager!
