Hi Polycom Team, we would like to have some help about this matter, we have a polycom device S/N 0004f211f19f that is asking for an initial password, this is the first time that we experience this issue, it was working fine, we hope you can give us a clue to fix it.

Regards!

Hello omareliax,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

A useful starting point would be to explain what Polycom device this is.

In addition to state the situation this device is asking for a password.

From the MAC Address it sounds like a phone so the password would be 456.

Additional questions around the password are answered in the FAQ and further support needs to be requested from your Polycom reseller.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

It is a 430 model, but the password that is asking for is not the conventional password, we have tryied the "456" but it doesn't work, if you reboot the equipment the password required apears inmidiate.

Hello omareliax,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

We do not disclose within this official Polycom community how to reset the Phones if the Admin Password is lost.

Many of our partners utilize these phones and offer services so we cannot publicly disclose the procedure to do so.

Please contact our support team .

We will remove any post replying to this that will publicly explain how to remove the password.

Hello omareliax,

just to follow this up, based on the MAC Address / Serial, this unit is a Polycom SoundPoint IP 430 which was sold back in 2007.

Hi omareliax,

We too had a phone do this, an SPIP 550. I tried factory resetting the phone, changing the firmware multiple times to different versions, but nothing would stop the phone from prompting for the password on boot every time.

We declared the equipment defective, and since it was out of warranty it was relegated to a spare parts bin.
