Hello Rob,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The VVX does not really allow applications to run on it. What you can use is the Web Browser to display content from a web server.

Hello Rob,

Not knowing the current software version its hard to advise.

UC Software 5.1.1 made a change to the phone if running LYNC base profile. You will need to manually activate the Web Interface via the admin menu.

UC Software 5.3.0 disabled HTTP access and made HTTPS mandatory in SIP profile. Again HTTP can be manually activate the Web Interface via the admin menu.

You VoIP provider can choose to disable the Web Interface or change the standard ports if they do not want you to make any changes. You will need to work with them on this.

Hi Rob, I'm interested in developing an application such as Broadsoft UC One to run on the VVX 500/600 phones.  I'd like it to work with my Asterisk server.  How would I go about it?

Thanks,

Hello namdecu,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Rob is the user that asked the initial question and it was not related to any Broadsoft Features.

Our Partner Broadsoft developed certain features with Polycom and our software supports these.

Some features prior to UC One are in the public => here <=

For others like UC One you would have to reverse engineer these as to my knowledge we do not share any documentation on these.

That helps.  I understand that the web application SDK is only useful to develop web applications that interact with a server.  To develop something like Broadcom's UC One requires being a Polycom partner.  Thanks.
