Hi,

The method of call redirection used by the Polycom VVXs when call forwarding is actived is causing us problems, if the extension is in a Call Centre Queue or Ring Group this redirects all calls for those Queues or Groups rather than just calls direct to that extension.

Our platform uses dial codes for configuring forwarding options which (unlike the Polycoms implementation of this feature) only forwards calls which are direct to that extension so does not effect Queues or Groups. Unless the dial codes are used there is also no way for someone to see that forwarding options are configured for that extension when navigating our portal.

We've implemented the forwarding dial codes on Yealinks and we were wondering how to do this on the Polycom VVXs?

For example, when the user enables call forward always this should dial a code followed by the number to forward to.

This should be fairly straight forward but as we're struggling to find how to achieve this ourselves we just need someone to point us in the right direction.

Thanks,

Shaun

Hello Shaun,

I am unsure how our competition is doing this but I am quite sure we can do a call forward per line.

I am not sure this is what you are after.

There was an old discussion here around server controlled call forwarding and using Feature Access codes:

Jun 07, 2012 Question: How can I add a server based DND / Do not disturb and / or Call Forward?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

The only thing I can recommend you, if nobody else has no other ideas, is to raise this as a feature request providing a business case as explained here:

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Hello Shaun,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to provide data if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC / Skype for Business server.

Your previous posts all where related to a Skype for Business server.

In regards to Microsoft Polycom phones are fully 3PIP Certified and tested and not knowing if this is a SIP server or a Skype for Business makes it difficult to reply.

Hi Steffen,

Apologies I should have clarified, we're using a SIP server not Lync\SFB.

Our SIP server is in a hosted enviorment based on FreeSWITCH 1.6.

Thanks,

Shaun

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I looked at the Broadsoft method of Device Feature Key Synchronization previously but we were hoping for simple solution.

I'll re-visit this and see how the Broadsoft method could be achieved in our enviroment, if it seems unrealistic we will put in a feature request as advised.

Regards,

Shaun
