Right now through Vonage Business I have all 6 line buttons showing my extension. I'll never have 6 lines going, I only need 2. I would like to change the line keys to be another extension, another phone number, something. I'm in the web config, under Utilities, Line Key Configuration, but I'm not 100% sure how to change these.

I tried clicking on Add Line Key Function, Static BLF, Label: User name, Address: 237 (their extension), Type Normal and clicked Save.

Phone immediately rebooted and said:

The phone has either rebooted/restarted due to configuration changes. Please refresh the browser after the phone startup.

Can somoene give me the quick and dirty on how to do this? Thanks!

Hello mvalpreda,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The easiest way would be to contact your service provider and request them to remove these lines from your Phone.

Another way is to simply reset the relevant lines back to factory default.

We recently discussed this => here <=

A BLF requires the support from your SIP server and an example is described => here <=

Another functionality is the Buddy watch which again requires the support from your SIP server and an example is described => here <=

A simple speed dial could be placed on the free buttons and their appearance is aligned via the Favourites number assigned to them.

I logged into the web interface of the phone and was able to change the number of lines for my extension from 6 to 3 and add 3 speed dials. So it's not a provider thing, it's a Polycom thing.

Note to others: Chrome doesn't work so well on these phones. Use Firefox or IE.

Hello mvalpreda,

I am usure about your follow up as the provider has programmed to phone to use 6 lines.

The phone would not do this on its own so it is down to your provider to change this or you can do this locally as explained.

In regards to the Chrome comment I use the Chrome web browser every day on our phones web interface with no issues.

Hello @Ambios,

welcome to the Polycom Community. You responded to a 4 year old post.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

Once a new Post is started please provide the minimum Information:

  • Provide the exact Software Version of your Phone
  • Provide the Phone Model
  • Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP, Skype for Business, Lync)
  • If applicable provide a backup of the phone in question
  • If possible provide a => Log <= and either attache them or use the => Code Tag <=
  • If possible provide the MAC Address or Serial of the device
  • Provide details if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details

Why don't you just answer the question?

Hello @Ambios,

You literally did not provide anything to work with and as requested in multiple locations that you must read first provided zero details.
