I have a Polycom IP7000 that sporadically announces the menu options while connected to a conference call. I can on a line it all of a sudden an automated voice comes on giving a tutorial on the menu options for the Polycom. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Here are my stats:

Assembly: 3111-40000-01 Rev:N

BootBlock: 3.0.2.0024(40000-001)

Updater: 5.0.1.10553

thanks

Hello twaymer,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Woudl you mind leaving some feedback on your initial post => here <= ?

Are you using a hosted conference service as it sounds like some background noise may envoke this menu. That may be coming from your end (so mute if you do not currently speak on your end) or from another party.

The phone itself would not send such tones unless a button is pressed on the keypad during the call.

I am not using a hosted conference service. No keys are being pressed and the problem with muting is that this happens when I am speaking to the other party.

Hello twaymer,

I can assure you that the SSIP7000 does not have any pre-programmed announcement included in its software explaining you how to conference a call.

This must be coming from some kind of bridge or service you are using and I can only advise you to speak to whoever provides your SIP service.

I am not using a "conference bridge" I am just using the phone to conduct a simple three party conference call. The other parties dont get the messages that I am receiving as the messages are Polycom specific and my assumption is that it is coming from the Polycom.

Hello twaymer,,

I double checked this with Product management, as I had never heard of this in all my years with Polycom support, and they are also unaware of this.

Could you clarify the following:

  • What Software Version is this SSIP running?

  • How are you registered or what is your call server ?

  • Is this a standalone deployment or with a Polycom HDX / Group Series?

  • Can you easily replicate this and record the announcement ?
