Is it possible to upgrade a new IP 550/650 directly to the latest bootrom/firmware?

 

I have not been able to update a stock 550 or 650 SIP software to the latest version directly.

I had to update to 4.2.2 bootrom first. Then Combined SIP 3.2.5. Then Combined 3.3.1F.
Then 4.2.3 bootrom. Then 3.32 combined. Split didn't work.

Hello Simon,

 

welcome to the Polycom Community.

 

The BootROM Upgrade/Downgrade Path is clearly shown on Page 10 in the BootROM Release notes => here <=.

 

In addition please note the following when upgrading the SIP/UCS Software:

 

Split download file is recommended, but requires that all phones are running BootROM 4.0 or newer.

Combined download should be used where phones may be running pre-4.0 BootROM. 

 

without seeing any of the app.log or boot.log it is hard to troubleshoot for other community members.

 

Please utilize the community forum search for BootROM and Provisioning in case you have other issues.
