I have been trying to work with Kamailio and the new SCA module. Also trying to get barge in working. Does anyone know if the Polycom phones support the JOIN header to use for Barge in?

Anyone know if the Polycom phones do barge in without a Back to Back user agent?

Ideas to look into?

Thanks

Hello CDE,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

As far as I am aware we do support the RFC 3911 Join Header but our implementation may be based on a specific interoperability partner.

You would need to test this in your setup and then work with your Polycom reseller and/or Polycom support if you find any issues.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Thank you for your reply. I see that the UC Software Admin Guide (http://supportdocs.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/global/documents/support/setup_maintenance/pro... in the Header Support section, lists "Join" as a supported header. Also, the UC Software Release Notes (http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/uc/UC_Software_Release_Notes_4_0_4.pdf) lists under SIP 3.2.0: "47749 Support Transmission of Join Header as per RFC 3911."

However, when I send a test INVITE to the phone with a "Require: join" header, a SoundPoint IP 650 running UC Software 4.0.4.2906 responds that the Join header is unsupported. Does anyone know of a configuration option I need to change in order to enable this header support?

Hello CDE,

as already mentioned this is an implementation based on a specific interoperability partner and is not the full support of the RFC 3911.

I am unable to provide more details as these are usually under NDA.

Best Regards

Were you able to get this working?  We are looking at using the Join header and are getting an eror that the Join header is unsupported
