DHCP server is running on the MPLS router and I see the phones grabbing an IP/lease from the router. I see the ARP entry with the IP/MAC of the phone in routers ARP table but the phones will not register and I can't ping the phone from the router even when only 1 phone is connected directly to the FastEthernet itnerface of the MPLS router (same subnet). The phones register when we assign a static IP/gateway/boot server. We tried assigning a static boot server and leaving the phone IP paramaters set to DHCP IP with no luck. So it's not an issue with the boot server or name resolution of the boot server. Phone's get stuck at "waiting for network to initialize." We have a similar setup at 4 other locations with same hardware with no issues. Any thoughts or suggestsions are appreciated.

Hello Ray,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition the Phone model may also be of interest.

I would suggest you take a wireshark trace via a spanned port and check what is going wrong.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

Your DNS servers are the google ones, can you resolve your boot server via the google dns servers?
