Hi

Is there any documentation that shows all polycom phones and the upgrade paths they should take?

ie - ip331 current ver:3.3.2 can upgrade to 4.1.5

       vvx400 current ver:4.0.1 can upgrade to 5.1.0

etc, etc

It would just make it easier to have this info in one place so that you know the upgrade paths for the phones as recently have had to upgrade a VVX1500 from 3.1.3 up to 3.3.2 and then to 4.1.5 however it was only due to searching the tech bulletins that pointed this out....

If there is a centrailized document that would be great...

Cheers

Dave

Hello Dave,

we usually host the compatible matrix on our homepage.

In addition the community's VoIP => FAQ <= contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What SIP or UC Software Version or BootROM Version is supported by my Phone?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Above FAQ post also has a link for the compatibility Matrix. From within that matrix you can also get the Hyperlink covering all the VVX models.

As a reference for future forum searches (at the date of replying to this post)

  • SPIP 331 UCS 4.0.4 is the latest for SIP
UCS 4.1.0 is the latest for LYNC

  • VVX400 started being delivered with UCS 4.1.4 and can run UCS 5.0.0 or newer

  • VVX1500 will only run as latest UCS 4.0.4 or UCS 5.0.0 or newer. They will run UCS 3.3.x or older SIP 3.2.x

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Hi Steffen

Thanks for the reply nut not exactly what I am looking for....

for example....

A VVX1500 is shipped with 3.3.3 software as per:

http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/uc_sw_releases_matrix.html

however - if you wanted to then upgrade the phone could you jump to 5.0.1 or would you need to go to 4.x.x first?

and a 320/330 is shipped with 3.0.4 as per:

http://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip/sip_sw_releases_matrix.html

but can you upgrade the phone from 3.0.4 straight to 3.3.5?

I am after this info for all Polycom phones ideally in one place.  Its the upgrade paths that are important including what bootblock and bootrom versions are needed with it in order to upgrade the phone without running into issues...

Does that make better sense? Is there anything like that available at all?

Best regards

Dave
