Hello,

Is there anyway to allow Macro prompts to accept a speed-dial button as input?

For example when selecting an extension to send a call to for direct to voicemail? Instead of requiring the user to type in the extension number they could just hit the Speed-Dial button.

Thanks,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

We encourage Users to utilize the Search Facility and browse the extensive FAQ Section.

There is a Post => here <= matching what you look for but not using a Speed Dial as this has a side effect if it is the only Speed Dial on the Phone it will be displayed on the spare Buttons.

Not knowing your Current Software Version or your Phone Type makes it harder to advise as certain features only work with certain Versions of Software.

Please check the FAQ as advised and use the Search Facility for your Keywords.

Best Regards

Hello Steffan,

I am using SoundPoint IP 650's and 335's, with UC 3.3.2.0413.

I did search the FAQ's here and in the knowledge base. I am already familiar with creating Enhanced Function Keys and Macros. I know that you can specify in the Prompt if you want numbers or alpha. But I was hoping there is a way to use Speed Dial buttons at the prompt. Some of the built-in softkeys allow speed dial buttons to be used, and it's counter intuitive that you sometimes have to enter digits and other times you can use the speed dial buttons.

So my question remains, is there a way to use Speed-Dial Buttons at Macro Prompts? Or is it a hard limitation?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hello Daniel,

to be perfectly honest I have not had a customer case in support requesting this functionality and therefore have not tested this.

You can programs EFK's to prompt user action so the only way to find out for you would be to test this.

Best Regards

Hi Steffan,

I actually have tried it. When you hit the Speed-Dial button the phone makes a call to that contact. I was hoping there was parameter that would change this behaviour. But it's sounding less and less likely.

Thanks,

Daniel
