If possible, I would suggest updating the way the MAC address is displayed on the web interface. Currently, it is formatted like this "00:04:F2:C2:30:C9". While this is technically accurate, most systems, like BroadWorks and Asterisk, do not use colons when notating MAC addresses.

If you were to remove them, then it would be possible to simply cut and paste the MAC address into the provisioning system. There are better ways of doing this, obviously, when dealing with quantities of phones, but when you're just fixing/troubleshooting one device, this would be handy.

In short, I'd like to see it as "0004F2C230C9".

BTW, I made up the MAC. . .

Hello jeff@bluip ,

Welcome back to the Poly Community.

This is a day 1 behaviour and we would require a Feature request:

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change aka feature request to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above would require a business plan with an impact that not including this would affect potential future business.

The format we are currently utilizing is standardized as explained >here< and >here< and simply copy and pasting this into for example Wireshark enables to set up a filter like eth.addr ==  without having to re-format this.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Hi Jeff

I understand that it can be a nuisance, but it's not a big problem since you wrote about copy-paste. What stops you from using any text editor or spreadsheet and just replacing what you don't need (can be done globally for all entries, if you need to do the same for either 100 or 1000 phones)??

Ctrl+H is your friend here 🙂

If you replace colon with empty box (do not enter anything into "Replace with" field), then you should be good to go..

Cheers
