I have a remote user who was configured via a provisioning server, since he is remote he cannot access the provisioning server any longer and is using the previously saved config.

I needed him to make a change on the phonse line setting from DNSnaptr to UDPonly due to an issue on our side but the phone continues to try to use the DNSNaptr settings. Is this part of the configuration only configurable by the provisioning server or am I missing something?Or is it that it needs to push the file back to the provisioning server in order to be able to update itself?

The phone is a Polycom 335 running SPIP 3.2.4 and BootRom 4.3.1.0440

Hello Ipereira,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

All settings can be made via a configuration file.

Some Settings can be made via the Phones Web Interface.UCS 3.3.0 brought bigger changes to the Web UI and since UCS 4.0.0 a lot more changes can be made.

Some settings can be made locally on the phone via it's GUI.

You should be able to change the settings required via the Web Interface and they will overrule any changes made via a provisioning configuration file.

That is very odd because I have tried to have a user change the server type from DNSNaptr to UDPOnly and the phone still tries to use the NAPTR settings. In the documentation I saw some mention of the local file being sent back to the provisioning server.

The problem in this case is that the phone can no longer connect to the provisioning server after I have shipped out of the office. I this just an issue with the Firmware? Mind you we are using 3.2.4 because this is currently connected to a UC System which doesnt have support for 3.3 and up.
