We just installed hundreds of Polycom VVX 300 phones and they are working well. The one thing is everyone has to dial international numbers first, and then pick the phone up if they want them to go through, as the digit map doesn't seem to cover all the countries in the world.
Our calls go out to a PBX which then uses Twilio as our SIP trunk. The PBX simply appends "+" on to each outgoing number.
Our internal extensions are all 4-digit numbers in the 5200-5600 range.
We dial lots of international countries. The user at the phone would dial 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx for a USA number, or 44-xxxx-xxx-xxx for a UK number, and so on.
Is there a digit map that would cover our range of 4-digit extensions, USA, and all other countries? We don't dial 911,411, or any other things besides our internal extension range, and local/international calls.
Hello BigChief,
welcome back to the Polycom Community.
As a Telekoms engineer I never understood why a SIP Endpoint requires a local digitmap as this should be the responsibility of the PABX aka SIP Switch.
If you still insist that the actual endpoint should hold this the community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference or Digitmap issues
Resolution: Please check => here <=
The above explains in detail how you can use our digitmap and how you can modify it. You can utilize Search Engines as for example this => here <= and feel free to post your results here.

----------------Hi Steffen,
Our PBX does have a digitmap, but when picking up the VVX handset, the VVX generates a dialtone and I always thought that is where the user enters digits and then the VVX compares those digits to it's own digit map to decide what to do with the call, such as then forwarding that string of numbers to the PBX.
If I were to clear out the digit map on the VVX phone, how would it know when the user is finished dialing a number? Is there a way the Polycom can send digits one-at-a-time to Asterisk until Asterisk sees a match on its own digitmap?
