As a work-around for this issue I am trying to load the CACert root CA certificate into a Polycom 331 using a config file. The phone has BootROM 4.3.1.0440 and SIP 3.2.6.0314. I can see in the phone's syslogs and the server's FTP logs that the phone is loading the config file with the certificate, but when the phone tries to process the file, it throws the following error into the logs:

I've seen various articles on the internet which say any or all of the following: (1) this should work, (2) I need to remove the header and footer lines, as well as all other whitespace (so that it says customCert="MIIH...O3ig==" as one long string), or (3) the customCert attribute's value should be a filename which the phone will retrieve from the FTP server. I've tried #1 and #2, both result in the "invalid length" error. I haven't tried #3 yet, but that will be next.

 

Can anybody provide a KNOWN WORKING EXAMPLE of how to pre-load a custom CA certificate using a config file, or some more information about what this "invalid length" error actually means?

Just tried #3, it results in the same error message (with a shorter legnth).

The Certificate should be in one line without any carriage return / line  feed and should not contain any header or end (begin / end)
