It has come to our attention that Ring Types are not changing via a SIP PS for our Polycom phones running version 4.0.3.7314. In the process of testing I found that the ring type will not even change locally on the sets. By going to Menu/Settings/Basic/Ring Type/Line 1()/Ring Type I am getting no change on the telephone for the ring. Programming it locally should override the sip.cfg until the phone is rebooted and it is not.
Any one dealt with this issue?
Thank you.

SIP PS stands for SIP Provisioning Server.
What I found as the issue is that the technician had set Distinctive Ring on External Calls to active, therefore when we were changing the ring tone, and testing with an inbound call from an external source no change occured. Turning off this option repaired our trouble.

Hello Telco-T,
welcome back to the Polycom Community.
The fact that you are still using a sip.cfg is worrying as these are obsolete since the introduction of UCS 3.3.0.
You may still use the name for a file but it should not contain any pre-UCS 3.3.0 parameters.
In addition I am not sure what a SIP PS stands for. You may want to elaborate a bit more in detail on this.
A quick test with the same phone and software and changing manually via the Phone GUI changes the ringer as expected per line.
I would suggest you check your logs for errors and maybe consider to work with your Polycom reseller for support.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
