Hi All,
I have deployed a new site with IP650 handsets (using a 3Cx phone server). My users are being driven mad by the audible voicemail notification they receive when they have a message. I can only describe it as a 'warble' every 45 seconds or so.
Looking into this I can see there seems to be a way to disable this by changing a config file:
Search for the following text in sip.cfg
se.pat.misc.1.inst.1.type=”chord” se.pat.misc.1.inst.2.type=”chord” se.pat.misc.1.inst.3.type=”chord”
and replace it with
se.pat.misc.1.inst.1.type=”silence” se.pat.misc.1.inst.2.type=”silence” se.pat.misc.1.inst.3.type=”silence”
However, on the 3CX I dont have a sip.cfg and those entries don't appear in the template for these handsets. Can I simply add the 'silence' entries to the template, and if so, where abouts? Is there no other way to disable this on a handset by handset basis?
TIA.

I've answered my own question. I edited teh template in my 3CX server and added the block as defined in the following link:

Many thanks!

How do you get to the sip.cfg file? Where is this file located? At work we use a remote hosting service and some of our phones are playing this annoying voicemail audible notification. I'd like to stop this. Your post makes sense however I cannot locate the sip.cfg file, even after conducting a search (no items match your search - result)

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the sip.cfg and phone1.cfg files?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
In addition it is always useful to include the currently used software versionas these files no longer exist in newer software versions.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
