Hi all.

I have deployed 70 Polycom VVX410 with UC software 5.0.1 provisioned via FTP. I also have 2 receptionist VVX410s with UC software 4.1.6 which supports expansion modules.

Is there a way to prevent these two phones from updating to 5.0.1 when they pull from provisioning server?

Thank you.

Here is what I have done to prevent update to 5.0.1

1. I have extracted 3111-46162-001.sip.ld from UC 4.1.6 (I assumed this is the right file by looking at previous VVX phone assembly number in Status-Platform-Phone

2. renamed it to 416.sip.ld

3. copied default 000000000000.cfg and renamed it to actual_mac_address.cfg

4. edited actual_mac_address.cfg and specified APP_FILE_PATH with 416.sip.ld instead of default sip.ld

5. uploaded everything to appropriate directories on ftp folder.

Thanks for followin this up with your own solution.

Just for your own understanding and anyone else finding this via the community search,

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Resolution: Please check => here <=

and as another explanation

May 14, 2012 Question: Can I support a mix of legacy SIP and UCS Phones on the same Provisioning Server?

Above in combination with your reply and the matching Admin Guide should give others a good idea.
