Phone Model: VVX 501

Current Firmware version: 6.1.2.1127

FTP server is running in IIS on Windows Server 2019.

Phones are working great, provisioning is working for changing configuration on the phones.

Issue is that when the phone tries to check the firmware version, the phone does not include the *.sip.ld file extension, thus it gets a 'file not found' response code.

When the phone looks up the configuration files it includes the file extension just fine.

If we remove the file extensions on the update files then the phone starts the update process and reboots, then fails to update. We then have to manually install firmware from polycoms site to get the phone running again.

Packet capture shows that the packet received doe snot have the file extension included so it is not any processing on the FTP server side:

45 0.030941 10.X.X.X 10.X.X.X FTP 76 Request: SIZE 3111-48500-001.

This happens whether or not we use FTP, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS... seems like something is not right on the phone.

Any insight is appreciated!

Hello @extension_)not_found ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Your post got captured in our Spam Filter and a volunteer had to manually release this. Please try and use Code Tags (Explanation in the FAQ)

Not knowing if this ever worked or of you manually manipulated some important files I can only advise to check this FAQ post:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the relevance of the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above demonstrates that either of these files should have at least this line:

APP_FILE_PATH="sip.ld"

If this was in any way or form changed the phone would not know how to get either the sip.ld file or the <partnumber).sip.ld file

Please check this.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
