Aloha,

We just installed our new VOIP phone system a couple months ago.  A few of us are incredibly frustrated that we can't dial an outside call by picking the phone up and then dialing - we have to dial the number first and then lift the handset.  Years of habits to undo - and old habits die hard!

Is there a way to fix this so we can dial the way we always have - lift handset, then dial?

Mahalo,
Drew

Hello ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: Phone unable to Dial a number when Off Hook or on 2nd Call in a Conference

ResolutionPlease check => here <=

Above is most likely causing your issue as once the handset is lifted the phone itself inspects the numbers dialed.

Simply removing all entries will solve this for you.

Please ensure you always check the community FAQ and/or utilize the community search before posting any new topics or follow up post’s.
