Dear Polycom community members,

I need on some particular polycom phones (we use IP331 devices) I need that the call is always blind transfered to a fixed number, never disconnected directly.

Since we are in a very busy environment, I can't ask to keep this in mind and do a particular operation before closing, and this needs to be automatic.

I can handle this in two ways:

  • Disable the disconnection when the handset is hooked on the phone. They will do the disconnection using a fixed custom action on the VoIP client.
  • Do an action / macro / efk when the hookswitch is pressed.

However I do not find any technical solution to do both things on the phone.

Do you have any suggestion for implement any of these or any other possible solution?

Thanks in advance.

Angelo

Hello Angelo,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as questions asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC server

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

The SPIP331 is a very basic entry level phone with certain limitations in regards of Keys or Actions.

I would suggest you look at the EFK FAQ post here:

Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button / use EFK?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Dear SteffenBaierUK

thanks for the feedback and pointers.

I am using an IP331 on SIP with software version 4.0.1.13681

I did read the FAQ on EFK however in this particular case doesn't help much, because I can't find a mapping for EFK on hookswitch.

Hope this helps understanding better our problem.

Thanks.

Hello Angelo,

The community's VoIP FAQ contains various examples on this that you can utilize as a foundation to build your own.

The Admin Guide and the FAQ list's the possible keys that can be utilized.

If this is not sufficient then a feature request providing a business case via your Polycom reseller is required.

Hello Steffen,

Thanks for the reply.

Can you confirm that hookswitch can't be handled using EFK?

Best,

Angelo
