Is there a way to disable the Group Call feature that allows a Polycom VVX 500 phone to press the PickUp button to answer calls to other monitored extensions?

firmware version: 5.4.6.4588

Hello @jdphone,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Not knowing any details on your current configuration both the feature.groupCallPickup.enabled and feature.directedCallPickup.enabled are usually disabled.

Thank you for your response.

If those setings happened to be enabled. What are the steps I will need to take to disable it?

Also the phones have Presence enabled on them. They monitor other active extensions in addition to sharing their own status.

Our temporary work around was to disable Presence however this is not ideal for us.

Hello @jdphone,

again we do not know what configuration you are using.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

May 25, 2017 Question: Can I create a backup of my current configuration?

Resolution:Since UC Software 4.0.0 or later a backup can be created via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup

The features.cfg file has the groupCallPickup parameter set as follows:

<feature.groupCallPickup feature.groupCallPickup.enabled="1">

I changed the "1" to "0" and saved the file. I then imported the file to the phone via the WEB UI and the device rebooted. This did not appear to disable the CallPickup feature. Not sure if I am doing this correctly. Later on I clicked the drop-down menu for Export Configuration and did not see the features.cfg file in the list. I'm wondering if the import actually worked.

Hello @jdphone,

As already replied in my original answer these features are DISABLED as a factory standard so therefore do not appear in a export.

In addition you did not post the software version:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

There is no VVX450. Are you sure you are using a VVX or a SoundPoint IP instead?

Also where is the backup of your configuration?
