Hello Constantin.Cotiuga,

I suggest you look at  this post => here <=

Simply changing it via the Web Interface and then exporting the configuration enables you to create a configuration for other phones.

BE AWARE - when setting daylight time setting

the parameter tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.enable="1" actually forces the day light saving to take effect immediatly.

Ive spent the best part of a day playing with the settings to ensure daylight savings would work for next week, only for it to take effect straight away.

Heres my settings for UK DST (note the sntp.daylightSavings tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.enableis now set to 0)

<tcpIpApp>
<tcpIpApp.sntp>
<tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.enable="0" tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.fixedDayEnable="1">
<tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start.month="3" tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start.time="1">
<tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start.dayOfWeek tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start.dayOfWeek.lastInMonth="1"/>
</tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start>
<tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.month="10" tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.time="2">
<tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.dayOfWeek tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.dayOfWeek.lastInMonth="1"/>
</tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop>
</tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings>
</tcpIpApp.sntp>
</tcpIpApp>

Hello @polycom_user234,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The Day Light Saving only applies to several countries around the world but the start end end date is different.

As a factory default Polycom phones have this enabled but the dates selected are North American dates aka last weekend.

For the UK to work you simply need to change the dates aka last Sunday in March and last Sunday in October.

aka

		tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start.dayOfWeek.lastInMonth="1"
		tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.dayOfWeek.lastInMonth="1"
		tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.month="10"

Other countries may not obay the above rule so the field Fixed Day can be enabled in order to provide a certain date for this.

Many thanks for the quick feedback, my point was really about the tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.enable="1"  parameter as i was confused as to why the DST was taking effect imediatly rather than when i had scheduled it for.

Regarding your point about the

tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.fixedDayEnable="1"

parameter, I interpreted your comment that as, whatever I set for start.month, start.time and dayOfWeek.lastInMonth will force the phone to change the time based on those parameters at exactly that time, rather than change when the phone is scheduled to poll for updates.

Could you clarify if thats what you meant, if not, could you provide a specific example that I could use for the UK.

I was mainly working on commisioning Trio8800's when setting this and currently the trio xml example config file doesnt hold these parameters, in fact it is a bit of a jumble sale with no xsd file associated with it to assist with configuring it. Is this on the pipeline to improve?

Hello @polycom_user234,

I am unsure I understand your comment.

The provided example was for the UK and I am unsure what issues you have with your configuration or XSD file.

If you struggle you can always open a Ticket with your reseller.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

End Customers are unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
