   Hello!

I've been able to delete the local DND button on the Polycom VVX 300 phones with the following:

<dnd feature.doNotDisturb.enable="0" />

But I'd like to add a new DND button which sends Asterisk the "*76" [the Asterisk DND toggle].

I've tried to do this in the past and just couldn't get it to work. - I can get the button on the screen - I just can't get the "*76" to be send to Asterisk.

Has anyone been able to do this?  I suppose that anyone who has been able to send any feature code to Asterisk could help by sharing the configuration that they used - I can then insert my "*76" feature code.

I don't need to have the local DND tie in with the Asterisk DND (although that would be fantastic) - I'm just looking to send a simple feature code.

I certainly appreciate any assistance that anyone can offer!

Thank... Dave

Hello dbaddorf,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button / use EFK?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above should hold sufficient information on how to do this. You will need 2 separate buttons as the EFK functionality does  not support a toggle.

A simpler solution would be to check how BroadWorks does a server based DND and CFW as described => here <=

You just need to find someone to include this in the Asterisk Source Code.

Steffen,

Thanks so much for your response.  These are some of the same documents that I struggled with before trying to get something to work - I can certainly try to go through them again but what would your response be if I changed my request to the following?

I would like to create a button to send a "*280" to toggle the Day/Night message on an Asterisk system.  How would this be done through a soft-key?  (Notice that I am avoiding the whole DND/SIP Notify/etc. - I just want to send a simple feature code to Asterisk).

I appreciate your willingness to help...

Thanks.. Dave
