Hello-

We have a new customer, who moved from a Cisco Call Manager to Avaya IP Office, and would like to reuse their Cisco branded cp-7936 Polycom conference room speakerphones. Does anyone know if this is possible? I know we have used non-Cisco branded Polycoms, have 3rd party SIP licenses, (can add 3rd party IP endpoints if needed). Also, customer does not know the admin password, and I know that info can not be posted publically. Can I raise a support request with Polycom?

Thanks!!

Hello Tom,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The Cisco 7936 and 7937 are manufactured by Polycom for Cisco but run Cisco's proprietary protocol skinny / sccp and cannot be used with SIP.

They also run their own software so any Usernames / Passwords would need to come from Cisco.

We do publicly provide our own standard Username and Passwords but we do not provide instructions on how to reset this in public.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier
