On an SPIP670, I'm attempting set up 3 softkeys that will execute dial codes to the IP PBX.

I need to change the labels on these softkeys, depending upon which softkey has been pressed.

No Key Has Been Pressed:

softkey.1.label="-Available-"

softkey.2.label="Out/Office"

softkey.3.label="Away"

"Out of Office" Key has been Pressed:

softkey.1.label="Available"

softkey.2.label="-Out/Office-"

softkey.3.label="Away"

"Away" Key has been Pressed:

softkey.1.label="Available"

softkey.2.label="Out/Office"

softkey.3.label="-Away-"

"Available" Key has been Pressed:

softkey.1.label="-Available-"

softkey.2.label="Out of Office"

softkey.3.label="Away"

I've tried to find information on how this might be done, on the forums here, and in the documentation, but haven't found anything that quite helps me.

Hello Hello John,,

very simple to answer.

This is not a supported feature and you would require to raise a feature request via your Polycom reseller providing a business case justifying this change.

Ok.

Is there any way to change a label, or light up a BLF light, from an 'external' source, through an http command or any other kind of 'command' to the phone?

Hello John,

not that I am aware off. Usually these features are server controlled.

"Server Controlled" - yes, that is what I have in mind.  Is there an API of some kind, to the Polycom IP670 phone, through which I can change a label name or turn a BLF light on/off/change color, etc?

Hello John,

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jun 07, 2012 QuestionHow can I add a server based DND / Do not disturb and / or Call Forward?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above explains the server controlled side that would work with visual indications for the forward or DND feature.

This is the only functionality known to me as the "API" for the SPIP and SSIP Phones has not got access to any labels etc. that I am aware.

These older Phones will be end of sales in the foreseeable future so there is no further development that I am aware.

Again if you have a business case this may be different but needs to be worked via a Polycom sales engineer as already replied.
